NFL Draft Trade Chart Value Calculator

With the 2010 NFL Draft just around the corner many believe it is a no brainer that the St. Louis Rams will draft Ndamukong Suh, DT out of Nebraska.. However since the Rams are holding all of the cards they should hear quite a lot of trade offers from other teams that may want to move up to take Suh, or the player of their choice. So what is Ndamukong Suh worth? The NFL draft trade value chart is used by all of the NFL teams when trying to determine fair trade value. You can see the #1 overall pick of the draft is considered quite valuable. Just trading down to #3 with Tampa Bay should garner the Rams an extra 1st round pick. The questions is should or will the St. Louis Rams trade their #1 pick in the upcoming 2010 NFL Draft. We have to wait until April 22nd to find out.

Dominating Suh

The Nebraska Cornhuskers and Ndamukong Suh dominated the Arizona Wildcats 33-0 in the Holiday Bowl. The Nebraska defense held the Wildcats to 108 total yards, in what could only be called an embarrassing display from Arizona.

As for Suh he had 3 tackles, one for loss and a roughing the passer penalty, the only time he touched the QB all night. In fairness Arizona did not really attempt to run up the middle or do much more on this night. Suh was rarely moved backwards and stays in his lane and then will shed the blocker to make a play. On this night I thought he was far from dominating and on a few plays did not hustle to the end. In fairness to Suh Arizona was not exactly going to go looking for him.

I agree that Suh can be dominating and is one of the best players in college football. During the Holiday Bowl Suh played both tackle positions, defensive end a few times, and even played on offense in the Red Zone. Suh is definitely one of the strongest players in college football but make no mistake Nebraska has some very good players on defense besides him. On this night the hype from ESPN about Suh was a bit much. Suh had two total tackles for most of the game and ESPN showed replays of both tackles numerous times.

I stick by my previous statements that I would NEVER draft a DT in the first round especially the top of the first round. To give a DT 60-70 million dollars I think is just a mistake. A great DT will have around 40 tackles for a season and rarely do they dominate a game in the NFL. Remember that Suh will not be playing against any 19 or 20 year old centers and guards in the NFL. There will be plenty of players in the NFL that can block Suh and teams can also game plan for him better than in college. Albert Haynesworth hands down the best DT in the NFL was given 100 million dollars to play for the Washington Redskins. Due to injury Haynesworth has only played in 12 games this season. The Redskins are 20th in rushing defense and have a record of 4-11 on the season. Do not expect miracles if the Rams draft Ndamukong Suh. Remember the Redskins also have rookie DE Brian Orakpo who has 11 QB sacks on the season and the Redskins are still 20th in points allowed. My last fact is Clifton Ryan has more tackles in 2009 than Albert Haynesworth. I just believe at this point in time the Rams have to get some help on offense and for Steven Jackson. I believe the Rams should go for some playmakers with their top picks in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Rams Trade Will Witherspoon To Eagles

In a MLB type salary dump the St. Louis Rams traded OLB Will Witherspoon to the Philadelphia Eagles on the last day of the NFL trading deadline. The Rams will receive rookie wide receiver Brandon Gibson and a 5th-round draft pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Witherspoon who will make 2.5 mill this year and 5 million in 2010, and 2011 has become too rich for the Rams blood. The Rams will tell you they are getting younger and acquiring more draft picks, I will tell you the roster is worse today than yesterday. While the Rams preach patience Chip Rosenbloom and Lucia Rodriguez are dropping the bottom line. As a Rams season ticket holder I have seen the Rams lose 33 of 38 games, 16 straight, and drop player after player from the roster that now play for other teams in the NFL. Rams, my patience is running out.

Roll 'em Up Rams Fans!

Well I hate to be Donnie Downer but the 2009 St. Louis Rams season is over. That's right I am calling it. Sure not many fans had a vision of playoffs this year but there are still those of you out there thinking we are turning the corner and can win 5, 6, or even 7 games. Well I am here to crush those dreams, another season has ended for our beloved Rams. Facts are that since the playoffs were expanded to 12 teams in 1990 only 3 out of 204 teams that started the season 0-3 made the playoffs. Don't even start thinking we will be the 4th.

The Rams have lost 13 straight games, including 6 straight at home. In addition since the 2006 NFL Season the Rams are 5-30! That is an outstanding winning percentage of 14.2. Although I was and am behind the hiring of Steve Spagnuolo this franchise has been run into the ground and I do not see us turning the corner soon. The drafting and free agent signings this decade have been worse than awful. All of our talent and playmakers have moved on or retired and we have not backfilled as needed.

The most depressing part of our current situation is that we have salary cap issues. Based on our talent level how can that be? Well it is easy, more mistakes by the front office over the years. We are apparently so strapped for money we cut Chris Draft over $380,000. The 2009 NFL salary cap is set at $127 million, and we were forced to worry about $380,000. Let's recap where some of the money is going. We have 60+ million dollar contracts with Marc Bulger, Chris Long and Jason Smith. Chris Long is not even starting at the moment and is unable to provide any push on the front line. Jason Smith is the starting right tackle when healthy but he was drafted second overall in the draft a spot reserved for outstanding left tackle talent. I don't even want to discuss the contract that was given to Marc Bulger. We can then drop to the second tier decisions. The Rams gave out 30+ million dollar free agent contracts to Drew Bennett, Jacob Bell, and Jason Brown. Brown looks like a nice NFL center but should he be the highest paid in the NFL? In addition to these expenses we are starring at another top 5 draft pick in the 2010 NFL Draft which will cost the Rams another $60+ million. Still with all this money going out the lack of talent, experience, and depth on this team is staggering. We enter Week 4 of the 2009 NFL season with the worst wide receiving group I have ever seen. At corner only Ron Bartell really has any NFL experience and no other cornerback on the roster has shown me anything. So don't make fun of the Raiders, Browns, and Lions of the world because we are going down the long winding road along with them.

In the words of Chevy Chase Roll 'em Up!
